MUTO- Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism

The MUTO have been battling Godzilla for the survival of their species for 250 million years. They survived by striking down members of the Godzilla species, who resigned at the top of the food chain, and laying eggs in their carcasses, which structurally resemble nuclear reactors. The MUTO are Godzilla's natural enemies, and are destined to fight against Godzilla as part of the ecosystem. Sensing the hatching of these ancient foes, Godzilla appears to face them.

Female MUTO lack wings, and are much larger than their male counterparts. They walk on six legs, which support thier large bodies. It has two arms protuding from its chest, but strikes foes with its large legs while attacking.

Male MUTO are easily recognized as being part of the same species as the females. Their most distinctive feature is their wings, which they use to fly, and can be retracted upon landing. They have four legs and two arms, but primarily attack from the air.
